Hello there! I'm back from a wonderful time in WA, and having more wonderful times being home with my cool family and cousin! It's great!

I hope I didn't miss anything too exciting! And I'll be back with a bigger post later... and pics on facebook too :)

Hi. I'm sick. And haven't got brain energy to write a proper post... but I just thought I'd better set it straight that I'm not an American Football fanatic as it may seem. Livejournal just decided it would change my default user pic to one they liked better :)

This past year has been one of huge learning for me.  I am excited about it, as I remember feeling at the beginning of this year that it would be full. I was expectant, and God did what He said He'd do: teach me things, and give me opportunities to learn. Yay.

One of the things that God has impressed upon me most would be summed up in the phrase He is there. Throughout every lesson was the peace that He is present. He's never away.

It showed up in all forms~
 
In times of lonliness He showed that His love was so much that He delighted in blessing us with friends.

In times of uncertainty He confirmed that He was guiding and bringing about His perfect plan for us.

In times of weariness He gave strength and joy.

In times of challenges He blessed me with family who would tell me His wonderful truths.

He was, and is, always there. Always by my side. Always holding me. Always blessing me with His peace.

God is Great!

I agreed to join in for the God is Great 08 Thanksgiving Celebrations- so here's my first post. Brief, cause it has to be...

We were talking last night at Bible study about wondering why God does certain things... the obvious questions came up like why would He let an innocent person like that die?... or then to good things like why He would bestow blessings on us undeservingly... but I also often wonder things about creation. Why would He make our bodies so complex? And why did He think up gravity? What's the point of all the other planets? And so on... but I think it all comes back to one point in Ecclesiastes 3:14 God has done it, so that people fear before him.  Everything He does is essentially to show us Himself, and that He is great!  God is so completely beyond our understanding, and all we can say to that is He is Great!

From Hebrews 13-

20 Now may the God of peace who brought again from the dead our Lord Jesus, the great shepherd of the sheep, by the blood of the eternal covenant, 21 equip you with everything good that you may do his will, working in us that which is pleasing in his sight, through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory forever and ever. Amen.

I read these verses the other night they really struck a chord with me. They are the promise of God's provision of all that is needed to do His will. And not only do it, but to be pleasing to Him also. I love God!
